He continued to say that we've grown complacent and even lazy when it came to understanding how truly blessed we are here. I had to think about that for nearly 5 seconds before I agreed with him. We do take our freedom for granted. Watching lately what is happening around the globe with self serving dictators, maniacal regimes, public protests, and oppressive governments, it's a wonder that we've made it 200 years. It hasn't been easy by no means, and quite frankly it's getting more difficult. There are those who would like to murder all of us and watch our country fall to the dust and it's all too real.

The commentator was right, we have come a long way culturally from the Americans of the great depression era. Those folks knew what it was like to go without. Think of the luxury you use everyday that you now consider a necessity, cell phone, TV, Computer, I pods, air-conditioning... when you think about it, we have become spoiled and if we're not careful someone will come along while we're complacently talking on our cell phones and knock us off our high horse - does 9/11 ring a bell and that was small considering what they want to do to us.

I liked the sound of the slogan "Hope and Change" but if it's not backed up with any substance, it's just a slogan, we need real leaders in Washington that want to make us great again, not the same as everyone else. We are watching the world change before our eyes, Egypt, Venezuela, China, Jordan, Turkey, Iran... Our freedom is what makes us different, makes America sacred, American exceptional ism - but it is not indestructible and it will come down if we don't do something about it now.

There are days I feel sad that my Grandchildren may not know what Real America was like and that inspires me to stand up and be counted! Don't you think it's time?

-Nick

UGLY AMERICANS!

Sometimes the political rhetoric can get out of hand. In the wake of the Tuscon Arizona shootings we all witnessed a very ugly display of what I call 'American Ugly'. For some reason or another, some chose to use this terrible event as a chance for political gain. It seems 'blame' needed to placed somewhere even before the facts were out. As we all watched the events unfold, we found out that the deed was done by a mentally ill man without affiliation to anyone, but damage outside of Tuscon Arizona had already been done.

The toxic levels of the vile insinuations reached an all time high. Sarah Palin took the brunt of most. People making accusations that a political graphic from her old website that depicted "cross-hairs" on congressional districts caused the mad man to go on his shooting rampage, therefore making it Sarah Palin's fault, how absurd!!! I'm not sure where it started but the mainstream media grabbed on this anti-Palin rhetoric and ran with it. Respected journalists!? I was appalled to say the least. On Twitter there were 1000's of disgusting Tweets wishing harm and even death on Sarah Palin and her family, it was quite unbelievable. If we weren't sure before, this was proof to me that we live in very troubled times.

At Point on Point Radio, my co-host Lauren Veach and I actually did a show on the aftermath of this event, but chose not to air it. Our reason was not to perpetuate this sad chapter any further. Our thoughts and prayers continue to those who are recovering from injuries and to the Friends and families of the victims of this horrible event.

When they held the memorial services in Tuscon, again I sat stunned watching what looked more like a political rally rather than a memorial service. I thought President Obama's speech was appropriate. I wasn't sure why the President didn't stop the crowd from all the holloring and cheering by just saying something like "though we appreciate your enthusiasm, this is a memorial service and not the time or place for that kind behavior", but he didn't.

I guess when it's all said and done, the division of our country moved a few inches further apart. I think people need to back off a bit, if this could happen to Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, what makes anyone think they could feel safe in our country when it appears some of our own neighbors would wish us harm because of a political opinion, something is so wrong when we can't debate civilly.

From the other side of the world, we looked like a third world uncivilized nation full of division and hate coming apart at the seams. Congratulations to those who perpetuated the vileness for you have once again successfully stereotyped our nation as "Ugly Americans"!

-Nick

WISHING FOR A RESET BUTTON

Don't you wish we had a reset button? We made it to 2011, no small feat when you consider the obstacles our country has had to endure; Collapsed real estate markets, bailouts, cities and towns on the verge of bankruptcy, the plunging dollar, the rising cost of food, oil and basic needs, it's really quite amazing. Our republic has been challenge from the inside in a way that it makes it hard to defend ourselves. I'm not saying Republicans or Democrats are enemies, but the socialist attitudes that at times resemble Marxism and Communism are prevalent in our government. The progressive movement has been building almost as dramatically as the Tea Party movement. The progressive agenda is a bit more covert, they prefer a quiet backdoor approach.

President Obama still lives in a whirlwind of conspiracy, a presidency that started out as a fairytale for some and a nightmare for others. The one question we as a country have to ask ourselves is; Are we better off now than when Obama took the Presidency? Yes, he did inherit some of the problems, but every president has, and going on to 3 years I think that excuse has been worn out, these are his problems now.

2 years ago Fox News commentator Glenn Beck said that "you will not recognize your own country in 2 years", and quite frankly, he was right. I can't help but wonder what our country will look like this time next year. Or an even darker though, will we have merged into the "global" Community and economically be on the same level as some 3rd world countries. This socialist agenda being forced upon an entrepreneurial society will only result in uprising.

Can our republic withstand the destruction of it's foundation from the inside? We have to dig deep and recognize that sometimes wrong is wrong and we have to stand up against it, the Tea Party has. In essence those of us that want to protect our way of life are the Tea Party.

I remember someone saying to me when the McCain/Obama 08 campaigns were at full swing, they said "McCain represents the old way, we need a fresh new way, we need Obama, we need real change" and my response was 'Change for the sake of change isn't always a good thing".

One thing for sure, we got change, now most of us are hoping and praying for a change back.

Don't you wish we had a reset button...

-Nick

STOP EARMARKS: SAVE AMERICA

This Blog-Point will be to the point. As I was researching for Pojnt On Point Radio Show "Did You Know?"-Government Waste" I found myself seething at times as I read about the ridiculous amounts of money that are literally thrown away on stupid projects. Now before I get yelled at, I know there are good earmarks and bad ones, unfortunately the bad ones far out-number the good.

As I meandered through all these billions of tax-payer dollars, I'm reminded by the news broadcast behind me that we are in dire-straits economically as a country. The Senate and the House have been fighting over passing a tax extension that would be like putting a stick of Gum on the Hoover Dam. Now I'm not a genius, nor have I ever been compared to the great minds of our world, but when I started adding up the Earmarks, it became obvious that this is a BIG PROBLEM. Financial corruption in our government is rampant. If we cut all the Earmarks for just a little while, we might be able to see above this hole we've dug ourselves into. It's common sense. To me cutting out Earmarks for a while, would be like someone not going to the movies or turning the heater down to 65, or not eating out, it's called budgeting. How come these elected official lose the capacity of common sense? When they pass into Washington DC is there a beam or something that zaps them? I just don't get it. If we did a way with Earmarks, we could bring our debt down to an almost manageable level.

We all have been touched in the bank account by Earmarks. Obama said he would cut them back, Republicans said they would do away with them, but alas, they're still there. If the Tea Party really wanted to shake things up again, then here is a new slogan for you;

"EARMARKS GONE, OR YOU!"

I think that's a pretty straightforward common sense, don't you?

Just food for thought,

-Nick

FOREIGN AID - FOR AMERICA

I remember back in the late 80's the State of South Carolina had a mock vote in their State Senate to succeed from the Union. Their reason being that they would receive more money from the Federal Government as a Foreign nation than they do as a State. The reality in this is quite sobering. We send billions of dollars out of the country every year to help and invest in other countries, but seem to make our own States beg for even the smallest amounts from our own Government. New Orleans, 5 years after Katrina, there are areas still sitting abandon and in shambles, why? the government has not provided the funds to rebuild it. This is disgusting, a major American city left to beg for private donations and grants, it's totally uncalled for. The United States sends billions to country's that hate us, yet we still send it. How about the BP Gulf Oil Spill, Louisiana was literally left to the mercy of BP Oil, Governor Bobby Jindall has had his work cut out for him, the long term effects are still not known, but the coastal economy has been devastated.

With the Dollar nose diving, the real estate market in distress and dying, food prices soaring, it seems to me that our government should be sending the money in, not out. New Orleans, Detroit, and many other cities are already broke, broken or beyond and we still send the money overseas. Our infrastructure is crumbling, our republic is in danger of collapse, yet we invest billions in Brazil, doesn't make sense.

America needs to worry about Americans for a change, once we are strong again, we can worry about the "Global" community. Let's face it, we're no good to anyone else if we cannot even help ourselves.

-Nick-

REFORM OR REVOLUTION

I am not an extremist, nor am I a warmonger. I am not a survivalist nor am I an antagonist. I am an American. I'm going to keep this quite simple and short. With the coming elections and all the the biting of nails and political hazing, reality is that if the U.S. Government doesn't reform we are in big trouble. All the talk of how much Obama has expanded the deficit and how much George W. did on his watch. The whining of wars and stock market instability, the dollar plummeting and the gnashing of teeth, it all boils down to corruption.

This has to be the most corrupt administration in the White House in generations, even Nixon wasn't this bad. What we have is a gifted BS artist as president, most agree he needs to go, a definite one term. The real future of our republic lies in the hands of the new elected congress. If they can't turn this mess around I'm afraid we will be looking at what is happening in France and Greece here in the United States. When will this population learn that we cannot survive as a nation on government handouts, Socialism just doesn't work. And unless you want to be governed by the United Nations, this is what is going to happen if we do not attend to this problem.

Term Limits could be a great way to correct corruption. We all know it will always be there at some level, power corrupts. But if we nip it within a politicians first term then it's over. I am afraid of where our country is heading. I fear for any leader who fights for the good of the people. When we are considered radicals because we want to recite the pledge of allegiance, something is really wrong.

So I leave it up to you, Reform or Revolution, I'm not calling for it, I'm just stating where it is leading... think about it.

-Nick

POLITICAL EXHAUSTION

I'm tired. I mean I'm really tired of all these politics. I remember a time when mid-term elections were just not that important. We could usually trust that whoever got in would do a somewhat fair job, but not anymore. There are so many hidden agendas. It seems the standard parties have splintered off into... well... other parties... Progressives, Liberals, Conservatives, Communists, Socialists.... It's all very confusing, almost like religion. No offense to the Baptist Denominations, but I remember being an executive in the Gospel music industry and there must have been 20 or more different banners under just the “Baptists”. I found it humoring that each believed something just a little different form the other., same has happened in our politics.

What happened to the idea that our leaders act in our best interest, not theirs? What happened to the basic moral concept that when a member of Congress or the White House is caught doing something wrong they should be investigated and expelled if proven guilty, not to mention go to jail. How does Charlie Rangel do it? Do they really have that much power and influence, if so, then the system is obviously out of control. How did the New Black Panthers get away with obvious voter intimidation? How does Barrack Obama get away with bypassing congress with all these Czars? What about all those Czars – this is not Moscow, at least not the last time I checked. And would someone please tell me the logic in Nancy Pelosi saying we have to pass a bill in order to know what’s in it? Why have we come to this point? Between the Tea Parties and the Unions, and all this infighting, I have reached a point of meltdown.

I am not rich, I am not poor, I am that middle class. The Bush Tax cuts will not help me extended or not, Obamacare will not help me, in fact it will probably cause more financial harm, more stimulus will not help me, for I will never see it. I’m watching my America drown in its own dream, I can’t save it, I can only try. If we become one mind as a nation we can save it, but splinters hurt, to many “I”’s and not enough “we” s, we need to change that starting with I.

I’m tired of the politics, but not too tired to at least try to save my America.

-Nick

A PATRIOTS POINT

I love my country and I'm concerned about where we are going. Not to quote a cliche' but "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore"! I'm a Constitutional Conservative. I'm a registered Independent on purpose. I don't vote Republican or Democratic every time. In fact I vote for who I can align my ideals closest to. A good example was the last Presidential election, I had a real quagmire there because I wasn't happy with any of my choices.

Where are the great leaders? What happened to the leaders like Ronald Reagan, John Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. It appears that Hollywood has taken over the political landscape. Watching the Governors race in California, I recently read one of the candidates has spent over 100 million dollars to become governor of a bankrupt state... why?? Power??? I don't get it. Does this mean that a great leader cannot happen without already being wealthy? I find it a contradiction of sorts that the current administration pushes a Socialist agenda when they made their millions as Capitalists! I remember Poland and Lech Walesa, he was a man of the people, poor, forced into leadership, because his country needed him. Is that what needs to happen, someone needs to be forced? George Washington was forced, he didn't want to be President, but he heeded his country's call.

In this chaotic time in America, maybe we need to force someone into the leadership of this country. For example; New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has done an incredible job turning the state around. He's had to do some very unpopular things, face down the unions and cut a lot of pork to balance the budget, but he says "I'm not ready to be President", many disagree. We need a strong personality, a person of conviction. Governor Christie is just one of many who are out there that can lead this country back to prosperity and respect.

The current administration in all their grandeur promised "Hope & Change", and all we really got was an eloquent speaker presented to us as a "healer" only to find that he has polarized the country and created more debt than all the previous presidents put together. I'm sick of hearing how he "inherited" the situation, that's a cop out. I didn't agree with this president's policies, but I did hope he could fix some of the things that had gone wrong, I did give him a chance, but that's over now. I've heard them call me 'racist', which I look at as a major insult, they have insinuated I was a 'domestic terrorist' because of my beliefs and concerns for my country. I am labeled "intolerant" when I protest the radical Islamists trying to build a Mosque at Ground Zero... Not to mention the "Apology" Tour Obama made across the world when he took office. What has happened to our Republic.

As I said "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore". The Tea Party has turned into a peaceful revolt, for now. If things don't turn around soon, who knows what could happen. It's happened before. Someone recently wrote

"November 2010 is our chance to reclaim America within the system, if not, come December 2010 we should consider taking it back the old fashion way"! Some would say that's a threat, some might call it a revolution, most American's will call it "necessary". Let's hope and pray for some divine intervention, we all could use it!

I love my country and I'm concerned about where we are going.

-Nick

"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." It came from Shepard Smith on Fox News.

"If you check President Obama's last trip over-seas, his wife left just after their visit to France. She has yet to accompany him to any Arab country. Think about it. Why is Michelle returning to the states when 'official' trips to foreign countries generally include the First Lady."

Here's one thought on the matter.

While in a Blockbuster renting videos I came across a video called "Obama". There were two men standing next to me and we talked about President Obama. These guys were Arabs, so I asked them why they thought Michele Obama headed home following the President's recent visit to France instead of traveling on to Saudi Arabia and Turkey with her husband.

They told me she could not go to Saudi Arabia, Turkey or Iraq . I said "Why not,(?) Laura Bush went to Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Dubai ." They said that Obama is a Muslim and therefore he is not allowed to bring his wife into countries that adhere to Sharia Law.

Two points of interest here: 1) I thought it interesting that two American Arabs at Blockbuster believe that our President is a Muslim, 2) who follows a strict Islamic creed. They also said that's the reason he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia. It was a signal to
the Muslim world, acknowledging his religion.

For further consideration, here is a response from Dr. Jim Murk, a Middle Eastern Scholar and expert on Islam. This is his explanation of what the Arab American's were saying.

"An orthodox Muslim man would never take his wife on a politically oriented trip to any nation which practices Sharia law, particularly Saudi Arabia where the Wahhabi sect is dominant. This is true and it is why Obama left Michelle in Europe. She will stay home when he visits Arab countries. He knows Muslim protocol; this includes, bowing to the Saudi King.

Obama is regarded as a Muslim in the Arab world, because he was born to a Muslim father; he acknowledged his Muslim faith with George Stephanopoulus.

Note that he downplays his involvement with Christianity, by not publicly joining a Christian church in D.C. and occasionally attending the chapel for services at Camp David.

He also played down the fact that America is a Christian country and said, unbelievably, that it was one of the largest Muslim nations in the world, which is nonsense.

He has publicly taken the side of the Palestinians in the conflict with Israel and he ignored the National Day of Prayer, something no other President has ever done. He is bad news! He conceals his true faith to the detriment of the American people." --- Jim
Murk, Doctor of Philosophy in Middle Eastern Culture & Religion.

ACTIONS speak louder than words.

Another interesting item regarding Sharia Law..

Why has Barack Hussein Obama insisted that the U.S. Attorney General hold the trials of the 911 Muslim Terrorists in Civilian Courts as Common Criminals, instead of as Terrorists, who attacked the United States of America?

If the Muslim Terrorists are tried in Military Tribunals, convicted and sentenced to death, by LAW, Barack Hussein Obama, as President of the United States, would be required to sign their Death Warrants.

He would not be required to sign the death warrants if they are sentenced to death by a Civilian Court.

Recently, Muslim Jihadist, Army Major Hassan slaughtered non-Muslim, soldiers at Ft. Hood, Texas rather than go to Afghanistan and be a part of anything that could lead to the deaths of fellow Muslims. He stated that Muslims 'could not and should not kill fellow Muslims.'

Is the motive for Barack Obama's insistence on civilian trials, to make sure he doesn't have to sign the death warrants for the Muslim Terrorists? Why would he, as President of the United States, not sign the death warrants for Muslim Terrorists who attacked the United States and murdered over 3,000 U. S. Citizens on 9/11? Could it be that he
is FORBIDDEN by his RELIGION to authorize the execution of Muslims?

Think about that! Open your eyes, ears and mind to who the President is, how he behaves and what he is doing.

(Unable to confirm this on Snopes. - Jim G.)

Wake up America!!!!!!

GREAT AMERICAN VANISHING OIL ACT!

How about "there's this bridge in Brooklyn that I own I'd like to sell" or I have this "Great swampland in Florida I'm needing to unload"... then say "I can make 200 million gallons of crude oil just disappear" it sounds just as outrageous. How stupid and/or gullible do they really think the American people are? Well, I'm not sure if it is just people wanting to believe it's gone, but it appears that they are buying into it. Out of sight out of mind, if they don't see it, it doesn't exist right? Wrong. Let's look at Pensacola Beach Florida. For the most part it appears as though it has been untouched, almost pristine. The water is it's famous Emerald green and the sand you can see is as white as snow... well, beauty is only skin deep. If you examine the water closer you will see BB sized tar balls mixed in with the natural grasses and debris rolling in and out with the tide. If you take your hand and dig down about 6 inches you will find the first of many covered layers of crude oil. In an attempt to save the image of the coast officials covered the oil with sand, at least 5 times that we know of. So under the beautiful sand you see, there is toxic crude. The long term environmental effects have not even been considered. If you were to analyze the water you will find it full of toxic dispersant's. It is something you cannot see with the naked eye. SO as far as the general public perceives it, the oil is essentially gone.

Let's consider the Gulf Of Mexico as a whole. Reports that Skimmers can't find any oil to skim. Well the reality is that most of the oil has sunk, that is what Corexcit does (the dispersant) it makes the oil break up and sink...(BB sized tarballs on Pensacola Beach). Scientists have reported large dead zones all over the gulf. The wildlife paid the immediate cost of this disaster, but us humans will eventually pay for it as well. The break in the food supply is just the beginning, eventually the harmful effects of what has been done will surface, and then the finger pointing will start, the lawsuits, the blame - by then it won't really matter. Most do not know that nearly all of the cleanup workers from the Valdez oil spill in Alaska have died, that was 20 years ago. the average lifespan of a cleanup worker from then was 51, should we be worried? You'd be foolish not to be.

When it's all said and done, Americans bought what they were fed from this corrupt government. The real reason this happened will eventually come to light, but it'll be too late, the damage on a scale unimaginable will have already been done.

So go ahead and believe the stories your being told, ignore the obvious cover up, after all the oil is going away all by itself, all 200 Million Gallons of it... see??? The Emperor isn't wearing any clothes sheeple. - Nick

COULD AMERICA IMPLODE ON ITSELF?

A very serious question for sure. I was born in the early 60's so I kind of missed the Hippie generation and the major push of the Civil Rights movement. That does not mean I didn't understand what had happened. The Civil Rights movement was a good thing, because I believe everyone is equal, and that the statement needed to be made. but 40 years later I think the movement has gotten a bit carried away. Let's all face reality, racism will exist on some level no matter what. The latest episodes with the New Black Panthers and the voter intimidation situation and how the Dept Of Justice was squelched by this President makes me really wonder about his intentions. I must admit I had a problem with Barrack Obama from the beginning and it has not about race. I'm somewhat conservative and I didn't agree with him on most anything. The other problem I had was that we really didn't know much about him and his background. Unfortunately that subject continues to be a mystery. If everything was on the level, it would not still be swirling. Recent events surrounding how the voter fraud removed Hillary Clinton from the picture enforces this. Add to all that the many comments from Obama himself that do nothing but separate and divide the nation. Michelle Obama recently encouraged the NAACP to "intensify" their efforts, she even called the Tea Party "Racists". The polarization of this country is happening on such a wide scale. The Federal Government has filed a lawsuit against the State of Arizona, because Arizona decided they could no longer wait for the Feds to protect them from the criminal illegal immigration coming over their borders. The Hispanic community has also been targeted by this administration. Basically Obama has decided to demonize White people. This angers me, because I believe in this day and age that EVERYONE has the same opportunities presented, with the exception of the wealthy. I don't think being wealthy is something anyone should feel bad about or apologise for. I have a very good friend, she is African American, grew up poor in Alabama. She put herself through school, struggled and worked her way into a very high level position at a major private (historically in the early days White)university in Tennessee. She once said to me that she feels sorry for no one, you are what you make yourself. I agree.

With the US economy in turmoil, complicated by the BP Gulf Oil Spill paralyzing the Gulf Coast States, all of the ingredients are there for us to implode. Corruption worthy of a 3rd world nation has increased expediently. Add to that soup the race issues and a President that continues to divide us, I think we are on the brink of collapse. My late brother used to say that we needed to prepare for this because it was coming, well I used to laugh at him, I'm not laughing anymore.

Most people I talk to are nervous, or ignorant to what's happening, sometimes purposely. Evolution happens, but removing our morals and inciting hate will only lead to tyranny. Our government continues to instigate and polarize this nation for political gain. Some call them progressives, some just left wingers. Some blame the far right, but really what about the most of us in the middle? For the first time in my adult life Mrs. Obama I am ashamed of our country.

Keep your ears and eyes open, and may God be with us.

Godspeed

Nick

BP OIL SPILL DECEPTION.

I can't help but fall into the conspiracy void. It's nearly impossible not to question why after over 70 days and millions of gallons of oil have been gushing into the Gulf Of Mexico with really no end in site, how not to? With all those "Noble" Prize winning scientists we have at our disposal you would think one of them would have been smart enough to fix this. What makes me nervous is that they (BP/Government) are already slowly leaking into the news that the Relief Well might not work, they have begun to lay out scenarios that take us into the end of 2010 with this Oil Well still gushing. The Gulf of Mexico and the coastal communities have been brought to their knees, economies in shambles, livelihoods lost, generations of fisherman and shrimpers jobless and of course the horrible pictures of the dead and dying wildlife. I've said it before, but this is criminal.

Wondering why it has taken so long leaves us speculating on our own different scenarios. Maybe land that is too toxic to live on, now easily plucked by the government? Or maybe controlling food? Population? I could go on but it's only speculation.

For the sake of our country and health and welfare of all those directly affected, I pray for this to be over, to have the nightmare end. In the meantime I will continue to be drawn into the black depth of a possible conspiracy in the making, Steven Kings best "yet to be written" horror story. But then even Hollywood would have a hard time making this up. - Nick

<category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='BP. I guess I must be a conspiracy theorist at heart, but it's even a bit more discerning when a long time respected Senator confirms your theory. Senator John Kyle of Arizona came forward recently and shared that President Obama was purposely dragging his feet sealing the borders. Obama's reasoning was "If we successfully seal the border, then you would have no reason to vote on Immigration Reform". Now I have to ask how ridiculous that thought process is, it's down right idiotic, but I believe it is the fact. There has not been a good reason from the White House to not help Governor Brewer in Az after she had been requesting help desperately for months. I also have a problem with Homeland Security head Janet Napalitano because she understands the situation having been the previous Governor of that state.

With that said, I turn my attention to the BP Gulf Oil Spill. Considering what has come to light with Arizona Immigration issue, I have to reconsider my stance on the Oil Spill and why it has not been corrected. Think about it this way; both BP and the Obama Administration has lied to the American public from the day it happened merely by not being forthright with how much oil was being released. With the Gulf in shambles enviromentally and economically a third of the country is paralyzed. This is Obama's chance to take total control of private enterprise. Add to that the recent surfacing of the Petrobas (Brazil State Owned Oil) scandal with George Soros, the Center For American Progress and The Obama Administration, it makes us wonder why the well is still gushing oil.

Ask yourself these questions;

Why hasn't Obama waived the Jones Act and allow help in from at least 23 other nations?

Why would Obama not want to secure our Borders?

Why has the United States distanced our long time closest ally Israel?

Why is Obama trying to get control of the Internet?

Why has Obama never produced a real Birth Certificate?

Why has his college records been sealed?

Why does the Administration hate Fox News so much?

What about the Petrobas deal?

Why does he have self proclaimed Communists and Marxists working IN the WhiteHouse?

I could go on and on...

We are at a crossroads in this country, either we will continue on this path of self destruction or we will change what's happening. The mistakes that I heard were obvious. Instead of concentrating on the clean up effort and capping the oil leak, he used the opportunity to push a political agenda this country just can't afford. We all know that we have become less dependent on foreign oil, but as Gov Palin said, "you can't just walk away from it". We have to make sacrifices, this is true, but I would prefer our sacrifice come in the form of drilling in Anwar or the West where it has been closed. We can control a gusher on land, we cannot 5000 feet under the sea, that much is obvious. There are many ways we can become self reliant.

I have to question this President's sincerity. it felt to me like a lot of forced emotion, a lot of practiced lines and quite frankly it all seemed a bit disingenuous. I feel a deep agenda here, something beyond the words. I guess I just don't trust him, I think there is a lot we don't know about him. Obama doesn't appear like he really wants to fix this. It seems like he is using this crisis to pass his Cap & Trade and put us into further servitude and bondage.

Somethings not right here, I would think a President facing this kind of catastrophe would have reacted differently - even this speech came many weeks late. We need to watch this situation in Washington closely. Just my opinion.

GULF OIL SPILL UPDATE & DECEPTION

Having lived on the beautiful NW Florida Gulf Coast I know a lot of folks as well as my co-host Lauren veach who lives there as well, so I get first hand details on what's going on. Weeks ago listener Tamara of Biloxi Mississippi, who lives across the Street from the Gulf, reported to us that oil globs had begun to wash up on their shores, she even sent some pictures. The national news however did not report that was happening until 6 days later, and it was Fox News. The mainstream media did not report it for another 3 days. I suppose people are getting wise because as the oil Tar Balls started washing up on the beach in Pensacola the media was on it. I have first hand reports this morning that the beautiful white sand has turned a funny shade of orange and people are going into the Gulf and they say you can follow their orange footsteps after they have dried all the way to the condos and walkovers. The oil at this writing had not yet reached Fort Walton Beach or Destin, but we all know it's a matter of time.

I suppose my first concern is not so much the beaches, but the animals. I have already seen horrific pictures and Tamara from Biloxi has told of the massive bird and fish deaths that have occured there. I cannot get out of my mind the Brown Pelican completley incompacitated by the sludge as it sat there in a sludge puddle blinking, asking "What happened?" it sickens my stomach. It is surely criminal what has happened. BP does have a moral obligation on top of a financial obligation. The Obama Administration has both as well, though they will try to throw the blame in another direction. I feel for the one's without a voice, the turtles and the dolphins searching for air to breath through the slick. The unknowing seagull who flies into the water when it sees a floundering fish as it dies in the oil slick, again it makes me sick.

BP continues to lie to us, action should have been taken the day of the rig sinking, we are now looking at oil still spewing, still devastating everything in it's path. The Obama adminsitration should be ashamed to have allowed this to go on this long. What shame.

I live on the East coast of Florida, and we have been waiting for the oil to catch into the Loop Current, where it will deliver the death to the Florida Keys, Miami Beach, and all points north ont he penisula - Obama will not be able to talk his way out of this, for a community organizer he sure stinks.

<category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='BP. First I want to say that our hearts go out to the families of the 11 Rig Workers that perished in the initial explosion, their deaths have been overshadowed by the actual catastrophe.

When we first found out that there was a spill and it was from the underwater well, I suppose I thought that between BP and the government we would have it under control with limited damages if any of note. As things progressed and we realized that there were thousands of crude oil being pumped into the Gulf everyday I became worried. As news got out that the oil would eventually find it's way to the coastlines of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, my stomach sickened. I thought about the impact on the environment, the wildlife and the devastation. Then I thought about the economic impact from the commercial and recreational fishing industry - add to that the tourism industries of those states, the cancellations of vacations, sales and all the industries attached, it is hard to even imagine the far reaching effects. the oil residue will be with us for the next 20+ years. I don't think we've even come close to realizing the damage this oil spill has done to our coasts, our wildlife and not to mention our already delicate economy.

The silence from our President and his administration is disturbing. The reaction to the spill was worse than the Bush administrations reaction to Katrina. No one expected Obama to go out and start personally cleaning up, but it seems that there is this silence that points to a larger problem.

At this writing we are a month into thousands of gallons of oil leaking into the Gulf, and they still can't stop it. Why is that? Something is very wrong, very disturbing - the largest disaster of it's kind in the USA and our Government is quiet - BP is sarcastic and somehow I know they'll figure out how to NOT be responsible - and this President will use fancy words from a teleprompter but will say nothing. Words cannot repair the death of an ecosystem, money can't do that either. But it's the silence that disturbs me - the slow silent death of our Gulf Coast... of our Country - now that's very disturbing...

Nick Granato - Co Host - Point On Point Radio
