I love my country and I'm concerned about where we are going. Not to quote a cliche' but "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore"! I'm a Constitutional Conservative. I'm a registered Independent on purpose. I don't vote Republican or Democratic every time. In fact I vote for who I can align my ideals closest to. A good example was the last Presidential election, I had a real quagmire there because I wasn't happy with any of my choices.
Where are the great leaders? What happened to the leaders like Ronald Reagan, John Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. It appears that Hollywood has taken over the political landscape. Watching the Governors race in California, I recently read one of the candidates has spent over 100 million dollars to become governor of a bankrupt state... why?? Power??? I don't get it. Does this mean that a great leader cannot happen without already being wealthy? I find it a contradiction of sorts that the current administration pushes a Socialist agenda when they made their millions as Capitalists! I remember Poland and Lech Walesa, he was a man of the people, poor, forced into leadership, because his country needed him. Is that what needs to happen, someone needs to be forced? George Washington was forced, he didn't want to be President, but he heeded his country's call.
In this chaotic time in America, maybe we need to force someone into the leadership of this country. For example; New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has done an incredible job turning the state around. He's had to do some very unpopular things, face down the unions and cut a lot of pork to balance the budget, but he says "I'm not ready to be President", many disagree. We need a strong personality, a person of conviction. Governor Christie is just one of many who are out there that can lead this country back to prosperity and respect.
The current administration in all their grandeur promised "Hope & Change", and all we really got was an eloquent speaker presented to us as a "healer" only to find that he has polarized the country and created more debt than all the previous presidents put together. I'm sick of hearing how he "inherited" the situation, that's a cop out. I didn't agree with this president's policies, but I did hope he could fix some of the things that had gone wrong, I did give him a chance, but that's over now. I've heard them call me 'racist', which I look at as a major insult, they have insinuated I was a 'domestic terrorist' because of my beliefs and concerns for my country. I am labeled "intolerant" when I protest the radical Islamists trying to build a Mosque at Ground Zero... Not to mention the "Apology" Tour Obama made across the world when he took office. What has happened to our Republic.
As I said "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore". The Tea Party has turned into a peaceful revolt, for now. If things don't turn around soon, who knows what could happen. It's happened before. Someone recently wrote
"November 2010 is our chance to reclaim America within the system, if not, come December 2010 we should consider taking it back the old fashion way"! Some would say that's a threat, some might call it a revolution, most American's will call it "necessary". Let's hope and pray for some divine intervention, we all could use it!
I love my country and I'm concerned about where we are going.
